My name is Valeri. I am from Kiev. I am the third child in the family. My mother was 41 when I was born. Mom and Dad both worked and I grew up at the streets.

One time I had to choose to study in a sport school playing soccer or in a regular school selecting my own curriculum. I chose latter thinking I found “freedom” and soon experienced the consequences. At the age of 12 Police added me to their alert records. I was a thief, drank, smoke. Later I tried the cannabis and I was sold to it instantly.

Almost two years I played with the sin in nice wrapping. VIP Clubs and bars… Then my sin led me to so much less shiny life, I stole from my relatives, lived in dens. Quarrels and scandals all the time. I got sick, had to serve the prison term.  Disappointment waited for me in everything – my choices, convictions, in my life.

Life had no sense, no purpose, joy or peace.  Behind the nice enticing wrapping of the sin always lays complete emptiness.

Many of my friends and acquaintances died. I berried my elderly parents. I understood that my life came to a dead end. I am complete wreck. I am lonely and no one needs me. I do not own anything and I do not want to live.

This was my condition when I came to God. I entered the rehab program; this was the happiest time in my life. All the time at the rehab was the time at the feet of Christ. He blessed me to be faithful to Him. All my life and my time belongs to Him now. I serve at the Rehab center and I am the happiest person because of His mercy and love to us.
